Your Mission

As an Intern – Engineering Assets, you will support the day-to-day management of engineering equipment, software licenses, and procurement activities. Working closely with engineering, procurement, IT, finance, and other support teams, you will help maintain inventories, coordinate equipment distribution, and assist with operational processes that enable engineering teams to work efficiently. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering operations, asset management, and cross-functional collaboration within an automotive software development environment.

Internship is set for: 12 months

Sneak preview of your future tasks

  • Support the procurement process for engineering equipment by collecting requirements from engineering teams, coordinating with the Procurement team, and tracking order status.
  • Assist in managing software licenses, including inventory maintenance, distribution to users, and monitoring license renewal periods.
  • Support the administration of engineering hardware by helping with ordering, receiving, storing, inventory tracking, and distribution of equipment.
  • Assist in managing Mercedes-Benz-specific development ECUs by supporting inventory, storage, distribution, and availability tracking.
  • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams during the setup and maintenance of test benches and support quality assurance activities in line with established processes and standards.
  • Participate in annual inventory activities and help ensure accurate asset records.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to accounting and finance teams on topics related to engineering equipment and asset tracking.
  • Assist with data collection and preparation activities related to engineering budget planning and forecasting.
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and records related to engineering assets and operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency and transparency of engineering operations.

Your Profile

Education:

  • Degree (or in progress of obtaining a degree) in Technical Computer Science / Embedded Systems / Electrical Engineering / Vehicle Technology or a comparable field.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of software development environments and engineering equipment.
  • Interest in engineering operations, asset management, procurement, or technical administration.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management, hardware procurement, or budgeting processes is considered an advantage.
  • Exposure to automotive technologies, electronics, or software development through coursework, academic projects, or extracurricular activities is a plus.
  • Interest in the automotive industry and automotive software development.
  • Experience working in an international or multicultural environment through studies, projects, exchange programs, or student organizations.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a structured manner.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
