Your Mission

MBition GmbH is developing and integrating the next generation of Mercedes-Benz in-car infotainment systems. 
 
As System Architect Android you will join a team of experienced generalists responsible for designing our systems to the highest engineering standards, using best practices and latest technologies. As Android expert, you will complement the expand on the existing knowledge in the team.
 
You will contribute to MBition’s projects with high-level architecture concepts and models, dependency analysis, prioritization of work, effort estimates and resource requests, and help to define and assert non-functional requirements. You will manage tech debt by living our strategy of a re-usable infotainment platform and inform technology choices with industry-wide impact by implementing our Open Source strategy. You will guide innovative ideas all the way to production in collaboration with Domain architects, Developers and stakeholders at MBition, other Mercedes-Benz AG entities and suppliers.

Your Profile

Work experience

  • Previous experience as a System / Software Architect in Android-based Automotive or Consumer Electronics systems
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a System / Software Architect

 
Core experience and skills

  •  Highly experienced in Android- and AOSP/AAOS-based device development and familiarity with the Android / AAOS roadmap
  •  Highly experienced in other common Automotive operating systems (Yocto Linux, QNX, RTOS)
  •  Highly familiar with Software Architecture patterns, e.g. process and IPC architectures
  •  Highly familiar with relevant standards and standard technologies in both SW and HW
  •  Highly experienced in Embedded Systems development
  •  Excellent architectural diagramming skills, including UML
  •  Excellent technical research skills
  •  Excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to organize, summarize and present information
  •  Excellent communication skills, including experience with moderating technical and stakeholder discussions

 
Nice to have

  •  Programmer background (C/C++/Rust, standards including MISRA)
  •  Open Source experience and track record, in particular Android / AOSP contributions
  •  Experience with or knowledge of BSP integration
  •  Experience with or knowledge of boot optimizations
  •  Experience or familiarity with Confluence & Jira
