Principal DevOps Engineer for Developer Relations Products (all genders) - Berlin

Your Mission
As a Principal DevOps Engineer you will be working on MBition’s Software Factory (SwF), a large scaled CI/CD environment which is used to develop the Infotainment Platform, the car's main five ECU's (electronic control units) and many other products building together the core of a Mercedes-Benz car. It is more than just a CI/CD environment: it provides standardisation but is also flexible enough to cater for different needs. With the SWF we continuously develop, integrate, deliver and deploy the mobility experience of the future. You will enable software developers to use the latest and greatest engineering practices to achieve the best developer experience.
You will join a collaborative and agile team with a mixture of all experience levels, nationalities and genders. You will also have the opportunity to develop yourself with a provided budget for further education and shape your career within MBition. Remote work within Germany is possible.

Sneak preview of your future tasks
  • Be part of a team which designs, builds and scales our CI/CD platform on AWS
  • Develop a strategy for part of our product and do PoCs to present your ideas
  • Guide your teams to run our scalable platform in high-availability
  • Bring in your hands-on expertise when running services in a cloud infrastructure encouraging best practices
  • Review currently used technologies, and tools and researching new solutions to adopt to the latest standards
  • Analyse the developers needs to improve the environment and provide the best developer experience
  • Boost knowledge sharing within teams and the department
  • Lead your team(s) to technical excellence
Your Profile
Education / Experience
  • Extensive experience in the DevOps culture
  • Extensive experience with agile methodologies and a rapid development cycle
  • Experience with Linux as a development platform and target
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, Gitlab and Artifactory
  • Extensive experience working with cloud solutions, preferably AWS
  • Experience with ASPICE and other relevant automotive standards
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Python or Groovy
  • Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology or similar

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to take ownership and strive for the best solutions
  • Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting technical issues

Language
  • Proficient in English, German is a plus!
