Software Engineer for In-Vehicle Infotainment UI (all genders) - Berlin

Your Mission
 You will contribute to the development and integration of our first-in-class in-vehicle infotainment system MBUX - using various technologies, frameworks and interfaces. You will be responsible for MBUX UI to implement and comply to Linux desktop standards. Your scope of activity will further cover the configuration and use of the graphics and input hardware, applying Linux security standards and optimizing the startup performance of the UI and UI applications. While not solely a programming-focused role, there will be opportunities to architect, design, implement as well as test and integrate features on your own, so programming skills in C++ and Qt/QML are very beneficial. Your development work will make use of the latest modern tools, technologies, engineering practices, and methodologies.
Your Profile
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communication Technology or a comparable qualification
  • Excellent experience in (embedded) Linux systems
  • Coding skills in QML/Qt and C++
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD
  • Know-how of Qt in embedded environments
  • System architecture, API design and best practices in modern C++ development
Nice to have
  • Experience with Linux desktop/userland development (dbus, wayland, drm, systemd)
  • Experience with Yocto is a strong plus
  • Experience with DRM Handling is a plus
  • Experience with in-vehicle infotainment Systems
  • Having worked with various software frameworks, ideally in the domain of infotainment
  • Open-Source Background

  • Proficiency in problem solving, troubleshooting technical issues and can-do attitude
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Personal initiative, commitment, perseverance and resilience
  • Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
Language skills
  • Proficient in English, German is a plus!
